Coronavirus Update: Doors Opening May 8th

HUGE UPDATE: We're now accepting appointments with a reopening date of May 8th!

Book your appointment via phone at 713.780.2412 or email hello@janellealexissalon.com. Cannot wait to see everyone and get back to what we love doing. We'll have more details to keep you safe shortly. Until then, take a look below at initiatives already in place.

During this time, the love, support, and kindness shown to my stylists and I could not make me more thankful. It has kept us going. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Vendors, partners, and clients have all come together to stay positive, and I know that help helped to make us feel a little saner. More on that in a bit.

Now that we're (almost back!), I write to let you know what we've been up to and what we have planned for the future. It will certainly be a new normal. One that we are ready to embrace.

We now have a date of May 8th to re-open. So time to book your appointment!! Don't be a last minute booker! Remember, we have all been waiting until March or even before for that precious cut or color, extension revival, smoothing treatment, you name it.

From the beginning, the safety of our clients and team has hands-down been of the utmost importance. So new guidelines will be in place. Scroll down for our new protocols.

What have we been up to?

Humor is one way we relieve stress; if you couldn't tell from my TikTok videos. (Now you've seen what happens after just a week of me being locked up in my home!).

But we've been busy trying to find new ways to help clients not only feel pretty, but safe in this time of crisis, like:

Beauty Boxes now available for literal color pick-me-ups with FaceTime consult. Please don't pick up the drug store or "monthly" box! This blog shows why. Instead, we've created these boxes with everything you need for at home, all over color or base breaks to blend in highlights for $55. Just fill out the virtual color consult, upload a pic, and schedule a pickup and time. It's delivered straight to your car.

Training parents how to cut their kiddos' hair. This is just one of many training videos but one I think is really important. Don't expect it to be perfect, but this what we are dealing with right now.

Educating other stylists through Babe Hair. Now, I've been an educator with Babe for 11 years, and  don't really get nervous for videos or trainings, but this was going live on Babe's Instagram and Facebook - so I have to admit, I was a little scared; especially as the first one on their roster to show root smudging. As I got into my groove, I couldn't believe how fast the time went by. I'm thankful for that experience, for pushing myself in front of maybe 1,000 virtual stylists, and for the love and support from the Babe crew!

20% off all in-stock retail. Right now, all retail products are 20% off, including Kevin Murphy, Living Proof and The Perfect Face. Call 713.780.2412 to order. More ways to support local businesses in this blog.

What's next?

We stayed open as long as we could, which helped up prepare sanitation techniques and guidelines that our staff are thankfully already used to.

We will have to take even more significant precautionary measures to ensure everyone's safety and confidence in the salon. This includes:

  1. Limiting the number of guests in the salon and waiting area. Once you arrive for your appointment, please wait in your car until you receive a text message or phone call from us.
  2. Only bring yourself - no additional guests like children, family members, or friends.
  3. Please reschedule your appointment if you feel sick or have a fever.
  4. A face mask must be worn. It can be removed if it hinders with your service but has to be on before and after.
  5. Help with additional precautions like sanitizing your hands upon entering, maintaining social distancing (luckily our station barriers help!), and not touching or handling retail products.

Our staff will follow the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration's Minimum Standard Health Protocols. We'll wear masks and gloves, while being even more diligent to wipe down and sanitize before, after, and during each appointment. There are many more initiatives in place behind the scenes, but we won't bore you with the list!

Thank you for your understanding, hope, and guidance as we all go through something from our wildest dreams. As a woman-owned Texas business, your continued support makes me beyond grateful.

We always saw the light at the end of the tunnel. We knew in our hearts that there is a light. And this too shall pass. Thankfully, it has!

Cannot wait to see everyone treat you to your much-needed services.

From a very excited owner,

Janelle
