Coronavirus Kids' Cuts 101

Janelle Alexis Flatt

April 19, 2020

I am so thankful these days, for many reasons. Especially thankful to share some knowledge with the moms and dads out who are sitting at home looking at their shaggy dudes thinking, "What am I going to do with their hair?".

Before you start, remember, no one is perfect. Don’t expect your haircuts to be perfect either! I have been educating for years, but not in this way to non-hairstylists. I hope that this video can help everyone get out of the house... backyard, 😂 from the monotony and try something new... I ❤️❤️❤️you guys!

Five easy steps:

  1. Buy some clippers whether on amazon or at place that sells them
  2. Purchase cheap scissors and a comb
  3. Spray down the hair
  4. Don’t be afraid to mess up... who cares?
  5. Distract, distract, distract

I truly enjoy what I do, and I love it from the little ones to the big ones. I did not edit this clip at all because he is just so adorable. Most of my little ones start coming to me when they are babies.

A lot of stylists really don't like the idea of cutting kids hair. Why do I do it? Because I love building trust and relationships with everyone - no matter the age. Mom or Dad can go away since their kiddos know me; they believe me and listen (thankfully!). Even when they get some attitude and I scold them, they listen. Maybe it's because I always give them a treat after the haircuts. Even better, kids are hilarious to me. We have the best conversations that put a smile on my face for the rest of the day.

Again, after this is all over please take your little peeps back to the salon. Remember, this is only temporary!

Thank you to @geannamanners for allowing me to come over to shoot this video!
