Balayage is French for "to sweep," and that is exactly how our colorists work: freehand, section by section, painting brightness where the sun would naturally hit. The result is soft, lived-in dimension that grows out gracefully, so you can stretch time between appointments without a harsh line of regrowth.
At Janelle Alexis Salon in Tanglewood, just west of the Galleria, we offer both classic balayage and true French balayage, which uses cotton to separate painted sections for an even softer, more natural blend. Janelle Alexis Flatt has spent 20+ years behind the chair and trains every stylist in the craft, so your color is consistent from consultation to finish.

At Janelle Alexis Salon, partial balayage is $155 and up and full balayage is $310 and up. Final price depends on hair length, density and stylist level.
Both are hand-painted. French balayage uses cotton between painted sections to keep the color from bleeding, which gives an even softer, more natural blend.
Because balayage is painted with a soft root, it grows out gradually. Many guests refresh with a gloss between full appointments.
